Ascend FCU - Protecting Sensitive Member Data

Ascend Federal Credit Union was started in 1951 to serve the employees of Arnold Air Force Base. In the half century since, Ascend has grown to serve an ever-widening member base with 15 full-service financial centers across Middle Tennessee and assets of $1.3 billion.

It was three years ago when Ascend Federal Credit Union recognized that their current way of protecting electronic data was no longer administratively feasible, and they needed a solution that was automated, and did not require a large amount of work from the IT department. It was at that point when Joe Jackson, Network Operations Manager at Ascend Federal Credit Union, came across and implemented, Code Green Networks TrueDLP integrated with the ZixCorp email encryption system.

According to Mr. Jackson, “The system just works. I don’t ever have to get in there and mess with it. I leverage the email notifications for administrators, so I know whenever someone sends something out that gets encrypted or meets one of the security policies. If I want to get in there and pull reports on whats been sent out, all that functionality is also there.”
