Code Green Networks Introduces Content Inspection Appliance 1500 to Provide Anti-Data-Leakage Protection to Small and Medium Businesses
System Monitors Content Flows and Automates Compliance in One Affordable Appliance
SANTA CLARA, CA – December 12, 2006 – Code Green Networks, a leading developer of solutions for protecting customer data and intellectual property, today announced the release of its Content Inspection Appliance 1500 (CI-1500) for small and mid-sized organizations in business and government. The affordable, appliance-based solution enables IT and security managers to easily monitor content flows, discover data leaks, and implement automated policies to prevent them.
“We needed an easy to use solution to ensure compliance by automating the monitoring and protection of our sensitive member data across all TCP communication protocols,” said Stephen Jones, Chief Technical Officer at Washington Telephone Federal Credit Union (Signal Financial Federal Credit Union as of Q1 2007). “The Code Green Networks appliance gives us the comprehensive protection we need, along with the analytics and reporting required for auditing. With the appliance-based solution we didn’t have to install any software or set up any additional servers – it just works. The system provides me with real peace of mind.”
Founded by Sreekanth Ravi and Sudhakar Ravi, the founders of SonicWALL, Code Green Networks is introducing the first anti-data-leakage solution designed specifically for small and mid-sized organizations. Using patent-pending technology and residing at a company’s Internet gateway, the Content Inspection Appliance 1500 monitors content flows on the corporate network and automatically enforces content protection policies. If it detects the unauthorized transmission of sensitive information, it invokes a management-defined policy to log, alert, block, or re-route the transmission.
The system supports the inspection of content flows and enforces policies in all of the most widely used TCP protocols including SMTP, FTP, HTTP and Web mail. It supports protection of structured data and unstructured content in over 390 different file formats including Microsoft Office documents, CAD drawings, image files, rich media and industry-specific application formats.
“As SonicWALL (NASDAQ:SNWL) continues to create superior and sustainable value for shareholders and customers, protecting business critical data and proprietary intellectual property from a security breach is paramount,” said Matt Medeiros, President and CEO at SonicWALL. “We are using the Code Green Networks appliance in conjunction with our own SonicWALL solutions as part of a layered approach to protecting sensitive data. The Code Green Networks product provides a reliable further layer of defense and helps us address internal business needs to secure our intellectual property.”
The CI-1500 includes integrated support for the Voltage SecureMail Gateway to provide organizations with a comprehensive “protect and secure” solution. Using an on-board Mail Transfer Agent (MTA), this policy-based solution protects information from unauthorized transmission and secures authorized information by automatically encrypting messages prior to transmission, using award-winning identity-based encryption (IBE). It automates compliance with privacy regulations, prevents information leaks and produces a robust audit trail without requiring user training or intervention.
“The 2006 CSI/FBI Computer Crime and Security survey reported that unauthorized access to information was the second-greatest source of financial loss in businesses,” states Sreekanth Ravi, Founder, Chairman and CEO at Code Green Networks. “Additionally, with privacy legislation now in effect in 25 states in the US, and many
regions globally, and even stricter laws currently under consideration, organizations of all sizes must take proactive steps to monitor and protect their sensitive information assets.”
Key Features of the CI-1500 Include:
• Deep Content Fingerprinting™ for superior capacity, accurate detection and fewer false positives in all languages including non-Roman character sets.
• On-Board SMTP MTA Blocking Capability with policy options for re-routing to a secure messaging encryption server such as PGP or Voltage.
• Content Connectors enable automatic fingerprinting of content in EMC Documentum and Oracle Stellent content repositories with full use of meta-data search attributes.
• Flexible Policy Definition provides the ability to easily define policies that meet the organization’s business needs. Pre-defined policy components and Web-based wizards facilitate policy definition.
• Powerful Incident and Workflow Management enables the content authority to analyze an incident, take corrective action and close it. Comments may be recorded at each step and saved to provide a defensible audit trail.
• Easy to Use, Single Appliance Solution with tiered pricing for small and mid-sized organizations.
The CI-1500 is a high-performance, 2U form-factor appliance with two dual-core Intel Xeon CPU’s, 1.2TB local disk storage, 8GB of RAM, and RAID-5 storage. The product is available now in 250, 1000 and unlimited user license versions.
