City of Henderson, Nevada, Protects Residents Personal Information with Code Green Networks TrueDLP™ Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Solution

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 16, 2011–Code Green Networks today announced that the City of Henderson, Nevada, is using the TrueDLP data loss prevention (DLP) solution to maintain the highest level of protection for its city residents and employees personal information. The City of Henderson is utilizing Code Green Networks TrueDLP solution to monitor and encrypt sensitive information transmitted from City devices over the Internet, and to demonstrate regulatory compliance with Nevada Revised Statute 603A and the Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

Located in the Las Vegas Valley, the City of Henderson is the second-largest city in Nevada, with more than 275,000 residents, 1,800 full-time employees, and a full-service local government. Last year, in their commitment to secure data protection across all channels, the City of Henderson began looking at DLP solutions to complement their encryption strategy.

According to Information Security Manager Terry Daus, the City's infrastructure serves 17 departments which handle significant amounts of personal data, including credit card numbers, Social Security Numbers, drivers’ license numbers and criminal history information, and they require intelligence on how that information is being used.

"While we practice strong data encryption to satisfy the 603A statute and PCI DSS, we realized that quite a lot of data still could potentially escape in unencrypted email and via the Internet,” noted Daus. “Code Green Networks DLP solution gives us tremendous visibility into what data could be leaving and gives us the opportunity to enforce policies to protect that data, further broadening our security strategy."
